Radwaste Treatment and Disposal
R & D activities have been focused on the development of treatment and disposal technologies with the aim of waste volume reduction and safe handling of radwastes. The High-Efficiency Solidification Technology developed by INER has been patented in 16 countries. Studies on radwaste disposal including disposal concept development, radionuclide migration simulation, and total system performance assessment are well under way.
